News Letter (Year of the Tiger)
The Second Annual Pan-Asian Parade sponsored by the Better Atlantic City Association, Harrah’s Group, and Fung’s Entertainment will be held on 2/20/10 from 2pm to 4pm on the famous Atlantic City Beach Boardwalk. The parade will include more than 500 performers along with 3-5 floats. Eight special cars for VIPs are provided by Convertibles Mercedes-Benz. The three sponsors also offer 14 lions, a 35 foot long dragon, with performance teams like God of Prosperity, Golden Monkey, Bride Welcoming, 7-Goddess Dance and Zhu Ba Jie (Pigsy) Carrying His Wife, Eight-God, Military Marching Band, High Stilt, Big Head Babies, etc.
The BACA has the honor to invite VIPs, like Peng Keyu, the Ambassador, Consul General of the People’s Republic of China in New York; Dennis Levinson, Atlantic County Executive; Lorenzo Langford, Atlantic City Mayor; Jim Whelan, State Senator; and You Jiang, President of The China Press. To enhance the festive atmosphere for the Year of the Tiger, Chinese Consolidated Benevolent Association of New Jersey presents 200 red lanterns donated by the Oversea Chinese Office of the Guangdong Government. These lanterns will be used to decorate both sides of the main business street, Atlantic Avenue, from 2/10 to 2/28. This will create a beautiful scenic view and much enhance the joyful festival atmosphere in Atlantic City for this year. Last but not least, the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office, the People’s Government of Guangdong Province sponsors a float especially for this parade. It strongly shows a sincere concern and support of overseas Chinese by our Mother Country. Welcome to everyone to participate in and enjoy this year’s parade. | ![]() |
